This Privacy Policy describes how TalkThrough ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our desktop application.
Information We Collect
TalkThrough is designed with privacy in mind:
- Voice Recordings: Voice recordings are processed locally on your device and sent to Google's Gemini API for transcription. We do not store your voice recordings on our servers.
- Screenshots: Screenshots you capture are stored locally on your device and may be sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis. We do not store your screenshots on our servers.
- Linear Integration: If you connect to Linear, we store your Linear API token locally on your device to create issues on your behalf.
How We Use Information
TalkThrough processes data to provide its core functionality:
- AI Processing: Voice and image data is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate QA documentation and bug reports.
- Local Storage: Your preferences and API tokens are stored locally on your device.
- Issue Creation: When you choose to create an issue, data is sent to Linear's API to create the issue in your workspace.

TalkThrough integrates with the following third-party services:
Website Analytics
Our website (talkthrough.app) uses the following analytics and tracking services to understand how visitors interact with our site. These services are only activated after you accept cookies via our consent banner:
- Google Analytics (GA4): Used to collect anonymized traffic analytics such as page views, session duration, and general usage patterns. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Reddit Pixel: Used for conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Reddit. Subject to Reddit's Privacy Policy.
If you decline cookies, no analytics or tracking scripts will be loaded.
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Application settings and API tokens are stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms.
- No Cloud Storage: We do not maintain servers or cloud storage for your content.
- Encryption: API tokens are stored securely using your operating system's credential storage.
Children's Privacy
TalkThrough is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights and Choices
- Data Deletion: Uninstall the application to remove all locally stored data.
- API Disconnection: You can disconnect from Linear at any time through the application settings.
- Full Control: You decide when to record, capture, and submit data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
